Approved Lender Panels

Judge Law Conveyancing Solicitors

If you are buying, remortgaging or transferring equity, you must use a solicitor who is approved by your mortgage lender. Judge Law is on the lender panels of a wide range of UK banks, building societies and specialist mortgage providers.

If your lender is listed below, we can act for both you and your bank. This avoids delays, prevents duplicate legal fees and keeps your transaction moving.

What Is a Lender Panel?

A lender panel is a list of solicitors approved by a mortgage lender to act on its behalf during a property transaction.

When you take out a mortgage, your solicitor usually acts for both you and your lender. The lender will only allow this if the firm is on its approved panel.

If your solicitor is not on the panel, your lender may:

  • Appoint another firm to act for them
  • Require you to change solicitors
  • Delay issuing mortgage funds
  • Increase your legal costs

Choosing a panel-approved firm from the outset protects your transaction.

Why Lender Panel Membership Matters

Property transactions are time sensitive. Panel approval is not a technicality. It directly affects whether your purchase or remortgage can proceed smoothly.

Using a panel solicitor:

  • Prevents unnecessary delays
  • Avoids paying two sets of legal fees
  • Reduces risk of last-minute lender issues
  • Ensures mortgage funds can be released on time
  • Gives your broker and lender confidence in the process

Judge Law is approved to act for many of the UK’s leading lenders. We regularly handle purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity where mortgage funding is involved.

Buying, Remortgaging or Transferring Equity?

We act in:

  • Residential purchases
  • Buy to let transactions
  • Remortgages
  • Transfers of equity
  • Help to Buy matters

If your lender is listed above, we can act for both you and your mortgage provider from the outset.

What Happens If a Solicitor Is Not on the Panel?

If a firm is not approved by your lender, the lender will normally appoint its own solicitor to represent its interests. This creates dual representation.

Dual representation often leads to:

  • Increased costs
  • Slower communication
  • Longer completion times
  • Greater risk of mortgage conditions being raised late in the process

In some cases, you may be asked to change solicitors entirely.

Checking panel membership early prevents disruption.
