We help businesses get the legal foundations right, from choosing the right structure to the contracts you sign every week. Whether you are starting out, bringing in a partner or shareholder, or tidying up agreements that were never properly done, tell us what you need and we will tell you how we can help and what it will cost, from the first call.

What we can help with

Business structure & formation

Sole trader, partnership or limited company. We advise on the right setup and handle Companies House and the paperwork that comes with it.

Shareholder & partnership agreements

Who owns what, who decides what, and what happens if someone leaves. We put it in writing before it becomes a dispute.

Contracts & terms of business

The agreements your business runs on, drafted or reviewed so the terms protect you and the risk sits where it should.

Contract review & negotiation

About to sign something? We check it, flag what matters in plain English, and negotiate the terms worth changing.

Buying, selling & restructuring

Share and asset sales, buyouts and reorganisations, handled so ownership changes hands cleanly.

Why instruct Judge Law

  • A team that does this every day. Commercial contracts are core work for us, so you get judgement, not a learning curve.
  • Fixed fees wherever we can. You know the cost of a contract or agreement before we start, with no surprises later.
  • We write to be read. Your agreements say what they mean in plain English, so everyone knows where they stand.
  • We think ahead. A clear agreement now is the dispute you never have later.

How it works, step by step

  1. First call and scopeA free, no-obligation call to understand your business and what you need. We confirm what we will do and, wherever we can, a fixed fee, so you can start with confidence.
  2. Review and adviceWe review your current structure or agreement, or take instructions for a new one, and tell you plainly what protects you and what puts you at risk.
  3. Drafting or negotiationWe draft the agreement or negotiate the terms that matter, and explain the points worth holding out for.
  4. Sign-offWe finalise the documents, deal with any filings such as Companies House, and make sure everyone has what they need to sign.
  5. On hand afterwardsBusiness does not stand still. We stay available for the next agreement, change or question.

Clear, agreed fees

We are upfront about cost from the first call. For standard work, such as a set of terms of business, a shareholder agreement or a contract review, we can often agree a fixed fee. For larger or more involved matters we work on an hourly basis, and we always give you an estimate before we start.

Business contract FAQs

Can you review a contract before I sign it?
Yes, and it is usually money well spent. We review the contract, explain the terms that affect you most in plain English, flag anything that puts you at risk, and suggest changes to negotiate before you commit.
Do I really need a shareholder or partnership agreement?
If more than one person owns the business, yes. It sets out who decides what, how profits are shared and what happens if someone wants out. It is far cheaper to agree now than to argue later.
Which business structure is right for me?
It depends on your plans, your tax position and how you want to share ownership and risk. We talk it through, explain the trade-offs between sole trader, partnership and limited company, and handle the setup once you decide.
Do you act for businesses across England and Wales?
Yes. We are based in Windsor with a London presence and act for businesses throughout England and Wales. Much of this work is handled remotely, so your location is rarely a barrier.
