A business dispute is a distraction you did not ask for. We help you deal with it and get back to running the business, whether that means a firm settlement or seeing it through the courts. Tell us what has gone wrong and we will tell you where you stand, your options, and the likely cost, from the first call.

What we can help with

Contract & supplier disputes

Breach of contract, supply and service disputes, resolved to protect your position and, where it helps, the relationship.

Debt & payment disputes

Disputed invoices and money claims, pursued or defended commercially.

Shareholder & partnership disputes

Fallouts between owners, handled discreetly to protect the business and your stake in it.

Professional & negligence claims

Claims against professionals and suppliers who got it wrong, and defence of claims against you.

Mediation & ADR

Resolving disputes by negotiation, mediation and arbitration, often faster and cheaper than court.

Why instruct Judge Law

  • A commercial view first. We tell you what a dispute is really worth pursuing or defending before you commit.
  • Settle smart, litigate hard. We push for the right settlement, and we are ready to go to court when we must.
  • Costs you can see. We map the likely cost against the likely outcome so there are no blind commitments.
  • We protect the business. We keep disputes contained so they cost you time and money, not customers and reputation.

How it works, step by step

  1. First call and assessmentA free, no-obligation call. Tell us what has happened and we will give you an early read on the strength of your position and the options.
  2. Strategy and lettersWe set the strategy, open with the right letter of claim or response, and press for an early resolution where one is available.
  3. Negotiation or proceedingsWe negotiate or mediate to settle, and issue or defend proceedings where settlement is not on sensible terms.
  4. ResolutionWe see the dispute through to judgment or settlement and deal with recovery or enforcement where needed.

Ready to get started?

Tell us about the dispute and we will get straight to it. Free initial call, no obligation.

Clear, agreed fees

We are upfront about cost from the first call. Early advice and a letter of claim can often be handled on a clear, agreed basis. Contested litigation is charged on an hourly basis, and we keep the likely cost mapped against the likely outcome so you can make commercial decisions at each stage. In some cases costs can be recovered from the other side.

Commercial dispute FAQs

Do I have to go to court?
Usually not. Most commercial disputes settle without a trial, through negotiation or mediation. We aim to resolve yours the quickest, cheapest way that protects your position, and go to court only when it is the right call.
Is my dispute worth pursuing?
We give you a straight answer early. We weigh the strength of your case, what you stand to recover, whether the other side can pay, and the likely cost, so you commit with your eyes open.
Can I recover my legal costs?
Often the successful party recovers a good part of its costs, though rarely all of them. We explain how costs are likely to fall in your case before you commit to proceedings.
Do you handle disputes across England and Wales?
Yes. We are based in Windsor with a London presence and handle commercial disputes throughout England and Wales, most of it handled remotely.
