What is family mediation?
Mediation is where a trained, neutral mediator helps you and your ex-partner reach agreement on finances or arrangements for the children. It is voluntary and confidential. We advise and support you around the process, so you are informed and your agreement is properly recorded.
Do I still need a solicitor if we are mediating?
It is strongly advised. A mediator does not give you legal advice or act for you. We advise you alongside mediation so you understand your position, and we turn what you agree into a legally binding order.
What if mediation does not work?
That is fine, and it happens. If an out-of-court route does not resolve things, we are ready to advise on the next step, including court if it is genuinely needed. Nothing is lost by trying to settle first.
