It is a court order that stops someone using or threatening violence against you, or harassing, pestering or intimidating you. Breaching one is a criminal offence, so it carries real protection.
How quickly can I get an injunction?
Where the risk is urgent, the court can grant an order very quickly, sometimes within a day or two, and sometimes without notice to the other person first. We can act fast when it matters.
Will they know I have applied?
In urgent cases the court can make an order first and notify the other person afterwards. We will explain how this works and take your safety into account at every step.
